Commercial Director
Reporting to: General Manager, Baseload Power Taiwan
Location: Taipei but with travel
Purpose of Position:
To grow the business through identifying, evaluating, and securing geothermal projects of interest to Baseload Power Taiwan. As a Commercial Director ,you will build and maintain a profitable pipeline, design competitive business solutions for landowners, conduct technical due diligence in close collaboration with other disciplines (Geoscience, Investment Management, etc.), prepare financial models, and build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders to ensure that all necessary permits and consents can be obtained.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Develop a business plan and yearly forecast aligned with overall company goals and objectives
- Plan and oversee sales and marketing initiatives
- Identify suitable land areas and landowners within prioritized areas and acquire land for geothermal power plant development
- Negotiate and close land lease agreements
- Manage and develop third-party project developers, such as land agents and other lead generators
- Secure local community consent and other permits necessary to build and operate geothermal power plants
- Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, utility officials, local politicians, and other relevant parties
- Prepare and hold presentations at public hearings and other events
- Manage the legal and technical due diligence process with the support of team members
- Prepare financial models to assess the returns of each project
- Build long-term relationships with relevant parties, such as investor, collaboration partners etc.

Requirements / Education / Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Management or Sales and Marketing
- 10+ years of sales and business development experience, preferably in similar energy sector such as wind or solar
- Proven track-record in independently prospecting, scoping and closing large deals
- Previous team management and mentoring
- Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
