Financial Director
Reporting to: General Manager, Baseload Power Taiwan
Location: Taiwan and with domestic or overseas travelling
Purpose of Position:
We are searching for a diligent, detail oriented and professional Controller to oversee the financial division of the company and to drive reporting and compliance on many levels.
As the Financial Director and Controller, you will help build and maintain a profitable company. This includes implementing our ESG policy and compliance procedures, as well as preparing financial models and related reports, conducting economic due diligence in close collaboration with other disciplines (Geoscience, Investment Management, Board of Directors, etc.) and building strong relationships with relevant stakeholders.
This role will be responsible to organize and coordinate with external accounting firms to provide annual & monthly reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, forecasting, budget comparisons, variance analysis, etc.), managing purchasing systems, banking, and cash management.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Develop budgets and financial models that coincide with the business plan and yearly forecast aligned with overall company goals and objectives.
- Planning and overseeing initiatives for continuous improvement in all relevant sectors.
- Manage third-party service providers, including external accounting firms, auditors, banking, and insurance.
- Establish and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including landowners, utility officials, local politicians, and other relevant parties.
- Manage the legal and financial due diligence process with the support of team members for acquisitions.
- Prepare financial models to assess the viability of each project.
- Perform financial management duties including cash management, the generation of financial reports, analysis and metrics, while assessing the financial health of the company including cash flow forecasting.
- Oversee the operations and development of the finance department including ESG policy implementation and conducting regular assessments of financial procedures.
- Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, monitor and enforce GAAP compliance for tax and financial reporting accuracy.
- Advise colleagues and executive management on decisions related to the company’s finances.
- Create strategic business plans based on the analysis of the company’s status and financial forecasts.
Person Specification:
- A graduate degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA or other similar certifications a plus. Other similar degrees would be considered based on experience.
- 10+ years of finance, GAAP accounting, compliance, and taxation, preferably in the energy sector.
- Proven track-record of managing the financial side of complex company structures, including multiple subsidiaries across different states, intercompany agreements, etc. International experience a plus.
- Previous team management and mentoring experience to nurture and develop junior team members.
- Excellent communication skills in English
