What we do

The U.S. leads the world in geothermal power generation, yet this accounts for less than 1% of the country’s total power production. Amidst the intensifying effects of climate change, states like California and Nevada have pledged to get 100% of their power from renewable energy by 2045 and 2050 respectively.

Baseload Power U.S. aims to play an important part in meeting these goals. By building small-scale, zero-emissions binary power plants fueled by geothermal fluids, we have an incredible opportunity to develop this massive yet untapped renewable energy source.

Our power plants

Wendel

Lassen County, California. The site was active for more than 30 years before operations ceased in 2017 due to equipment failure. Baseload acquired the site in July 2020. Installation in the San Joaquin Valley with a gross nameplate rating of 150 kW and a net rating of 125 kW.

San Ardo

Monterey County, California. Installation in the San Joaquin Valley with a gross nameplate rating of 150 kW and a net rating of 125 kW.

Weepah Hills

Esmeralda County, Nevada. Geothermal exploration ongoing.

Our team

Jesper has previous experience in sales, marketing and finance, a master’s degree in industrial engineering and management, and an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School.

Scott has 18+ years of experience within geothermal power development. He specializes in permitting and has successfully developed several well-known geothermal powerplants throughout his career.

Marliese oversees the administration for Baseload Power US and provides support for the team with their various projects. She has previous experience working as an accounting associate for a private utility company and has graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Business Administration – International Business with a minor in Economics.

Marliese Edgerly

Office Manager & Administration

Brigitte brings 25+ years of domestic and international experience in geothermal power development to Baseload Power. She specializes in project management, project valuation, strategic planning, and finance with a focus on strong business performance.

Maria Brigitta N. Swanson

Program Manager

Larry has 20+ years of project management experience within geothermal power. He has worked as a consultant and/or project manager at many well-known and respected geothermal fields around the world.
