2024 Nordic-Taiwan Sustainable Energy Forum

The Nordic Sustainable Energy Forum, initiated in 2019 by the Finland Trade Center, the Trade Council of Denmark, and the Swedish Trade and Invest Council, serves as a pivotal platform for fostering exchange and collaboration between Nordic countries and Taiwan. This year’s event addressed pressing energy challenges, including renewable energy expansion and achieving net-zero goals.

Van shared our vision for scaling up geothermal energy in Taiwan, highlighting the crucial role of partnerships between local developers, international companies, and government agencies in driving progress and unlocking Taiwan’s geothermal potential.

During the panel discussion, key strategies to scale geothermal development were explored:

– Policy enhancements to support geothermal growth and the adoption of new technologies

– Strengthening stakeholder engagement, especially with indigenous communities

– Fostering collaborations between government and industry to attract investment and accelerate development
