World Economic Forum Report puts geothermal in the global spotlight

Seven of nine natural systems that keep the Earth stable have exceeded safe limits. From climate to land system to sea change, current trends indicate worsening planetary health. According to the 10 Emerging Technology Solutions for Planetary Health Insight Report, emerging technologies could help restore balance. One key solution is geothermal.

Scaling clean, constant geothermal energy with modular systems

In the clean energy landscape, geothermal energy offers a rare combination: constant output, minimal land use and the potential to scale globally. Despite its promise, geothermal supplies less than 1% of global electricity. Advances in modular, factory built geothermal systems and improvements in drilling technologies are expanding where and how geothermal can be deployed.

Geothermal’s potential is rising fast

Proven geothermal pilot projects worldwide already deliver megawatts of power each year. Increasing investments from tech giants, energy companies, and governments – along with AI advances – are improving geothermal’s outlook. Societally, modular geothermal could strengthen energy resilience in underserved communities by enabling locally managed power.
